Sammy Seagull’s pancake adventure
Sammy Seagull was a cheerful bird who lived on a big sailing ship called The Rolling Rumbler. The ship was large with tall masts and wide sails that caught the wind and made the ship glide over the waves like a bird in the sky. Sammy loved the salty sea air and the way the deck felt under his webbed feet. One sunny morning, Sammy woke up with a rumble in his tummy. He wanted to eat something yummy, but the ship’s cook was sick in bed. The only food left in the kitchen was some flour, an egg, and a bottle of milk. Sammy had heard from the cook about making pancakes but had never tried it himself. He decided that he would make pancakes to fill his tummy and maybe even cheer up the sick cook.

Sammy started his pancake adventure with excitement. He remembered the cook saying, „Mix flour, milk, and an egg, and then cook it in a pan.” Sammy found a bowl and poured some flour into it. He added the egg next and then splashed in some milk. He stirred and stirred until the mix looked just right. Every time Sammy added something, he would say out loud, „Flour, egg, milk, stir!” This became his little chant. As he mixed, he felt happy and thought about how delicious the pancakes would taste. Sammy also felt a bit worried because he had never cooked anything by himself before. But thinking of the sick cook, he wanted to try his best. He poured the batter into a pan and watched as it cooked. The kitchen filled with a yummy smell, and Sammy felt proud and a bit nervous to taste his creation.

As the pancake started to bubble, Sammy knew it was time to flip it. He took a deep breath, slid the spatula under the pancake, and with a quick flick of his wrist, he flipped it! It was golden and fluffy, just like the cook used to make. Sammy carefully slid the pancake onto a plate and rushed to the cook’s cabin. He presented the pancake with a flourish, and the cook smiled widely, feeling a bit better already. They shared the warm pancake, and the cook praised Sammy for his hard work and delicious cooking. Sammy felt a rush of happiness knowing he had not only made a yummy pancake but also helped his friend.

After the pancake feast, Sammy and the cook sat on the deck, watching the waves and feeling the warm sun. The cook told Sammy that he was a natural chef and should make pancakes more often. Sammy felt proud and happy. He learned that trying something new could be fun and rewarding. He also realized that helping others made him feel good inside.
