The little sailor’s first voyage

Tommy, a young boy with a bright smile, lived near the sea in a small English village. He loved the big blue waves and dreamed of sailing. One day, Tommy got to go on a sailing ship called the “Sea Friend.” The ship was big and white, and it had sails as large as his house. Tommy’s problem was simple: he didn’t know how to help the crew. He wanted to learn about the ship and be useful. The “Sea Friend” sailed on the sea, which is a large body of salt water that covers most of the Earth.

Tommy’s sea adventure

As the “Sea Friend” sailed, Tommy saw dolphins jumping and learned that they breathe air like us. Every day, he helped the crew by carrying ropes and learned new words like “starboard” for the right side of the ship. He repeated these tasks daily, feeling happy and useful. The crew cheered for him, making him feel loved. Tommy’s favourite time was when the captain let him steer briefly, feeling the ship move under his small hands.

The stormy challenge

One cloudy day, a gentle storm came. The waves grew bigger, and Tommy felt a bit scared. But he remembered what the captain said about storms: they help mix the sea and bring fish closer to the surface. Tommy wanted to help. Using his new skills, he helped secure the ropes and cover important parts of the ship. The crew clapped and said, “Well done, Tommy!” The storm passed, and the sea calmed. Tommy felt proud and brave.

Homeward bound

As the “Sea Friend” returned to the village, Tommy felt different. He had learned so much about the sea and sailing. Back home, he told everyone about his adventure and the new things he learned. He felt happy and couldn’t wait for his next voyage. Tommy knew now that the sea was full of wonders and lessons, just like life.
